Sound familiar?

THE SILENCE

Applying since summer, nothing back

Dozens of applications, the odd automated rejection, and no idea what’s wrong because nobody tells you.

THE BLUR

Not sure what you’re actually going for

Finance? Consulting? Anything with “graduate” in the title? A vague target reads as a weak candidate, even when you’re not.

THE WALL

Interviews, but no offers

You get through the screen and then lose at the assessment centre or the final, and the feedback is “strong candidate, went another way”.

None of these mean you’re not good enough. In 10+ years I’ve seen the same three problems on hundreds of CVs, and they come down to targeting, positioning and practice. All three are fixable in six weeks.

What the six weeks look like

WEEKS 1 TO 2

Direction and target

We work out what you’re actually good at and where it’s wanted. You leave with a target role, a shortlist of employers hiring now, and a one line answer to “what are you looking for?”

WEEKS 2 TO 3

CV, LinkedIn and applications

Your CV rebuilt around that target, a LinkedIn profile recruiters find, and a tailoring system so each application takes 20 minutes rather than a weekend.

WEEKS 4 TO 5

Interviews and assessment centres

A bank of five stories that cover most competency questions, a recorded mock interview with written feedback, and practice for group exercises and case questions.

WEEK 6

Offers and what’s next

Handling the offer, negotiating if there’s room, and a 30 day plan so momentum carries on after we finish.

Eight one hour sessions, one to one, plus support between sessions on live applications and interviews. You keep the workbook and the resources afterwards.

Against a first graduate salary of £28,000 to £35,000, six weeks that shorten the search by a few months pays for itself many times over.

What I won’t promise

I won’t promise you a job by a certain date. Nobody honestly can, and if someone does, be careful. What I can tell you is what usually changes: applications start going to the right places, replies start coming back, interviews start happening, and you stop feeling like you’re guessing. Some people land an offer inside the six weeks. For most, the six weeks builds the system and the offer follows using it.

Who you’ll be working with

Anika Awasthi, founder of Grad Careers Coach. I’ve spent 10+ years helping graduates land jobs at Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, EY, Accenture, the Bank of England and hundreds of smaller employers. I know what the person reading your application is looking for, because I’ve spent a decade talking to them.

Every session is with me or one of my coaches, one to one. No group calls, no pre recorded course.

Questions people ask before booking

I’m still in my final year. Is it too early?

Usually the opposite. Most graduate jobs for next September open in the autumn and close before Christmas. Starting now means you’re applying while the good roles are still open.

My CV is already decent.

It might be. The content usually is. But a recruiter reads it in under ten seconds looking for specific things, and small framing choices decide whether you’re shortlisted. On the call I’ll tell you exactly what I’d change.

I work part time, do I have time for this?

Most people on Ignite are working or studying. Sessions fit around you, including evenings, and the tailoring system means each application stops eating a whole day.

What happens when I send my CV?

I read it myself, not a tool, and reply within two working days with the first three things I’d change. If I think Ignite would help, I’ll say so and offer a short call. If I don’t, I’ll say that too. No hard sell either way.

Stop guessing. Start getting replies.

Email me your CV and get the first three things to change within two working days, whether or not you ever work with me.
