The University of Manchester
Having graduated from The University of Manchester nearly 10 years ago, it was an honour and a privilege to be back and to be giving a careers talk to international students.
The University of Manchester has a fantastic reputation for being a world leading university. With an award-winning careers service, it’s no surprise that 94% of graduates go straight into jobs or further study.
According to UKCISA, it attracts over 10,000 international students, and I’m pleased to say nearly 100 students attended our talk.
Graduate schemes and graduate jobs
Yesterday’s talk, “Graduate Schemes vs Graduate Jobs: Career Options for International Students in the UK” was designed to give students information and guidance on finding and applying to Tier 2 jobs.
Shuo Yang, a qualified careers advisor and a specialist consultant, delivered the talk sharing his own experience of being a Chinese student who faced the same struggle on needing a work visa to stay in the UK.
Luckily, he was successful and many years on has forged a great career.
